Rome Vatican Tour - short description

About Rome Colosseum Vatican Tour

Skip the lines as you go on a full-day tour of the Vatican and the Colosseum including the Roman Forum. As there are no lines, your tour starts with viewing some of the most impressive art collections in the world at the Vatican Museums. As you pass the marvellous walls of the museum, you will be stopping at the Gallery of Tapestries to witness magnificent drawings of artist, Raffaello Sanzio, transformed into tapestry in Brussels depicting Catholic-themed stories. Also, be awed by the large frescos of maps of the Italian peninsula in the Gallery of Maps. The next stop is a visit to the Sistine Chapel and no trip to Rome is complete without visiting it. It is of great significance today as it has made Michelangelo renowned and the Sistine Chapel legendary for the Renaissance Art painted on the ceiling high above the floor. But, the most important piece of work is the Last Judgement, a massive fresco depicting the second coming of Christ. Your visit also includes Raphael’s Rooms and St. Peter’s Basilica. After lunch, you will now see the ancient city of Rome and the first stop is the Colosseum where you will see the arena and be mesmerised by the sheer size of the largest amphitheatre in the world. Your tour also takes you to Palatine Hill and Capitoline Hill and you can see the magnificent views of ancient Rome.
